“Cheetah Kids” by Herman Franck, Esq., is the story of two human kids, Kit and Kat, who were raised by cheetahs in the Central African Republic of Zimbali when their parents were brutally murdered by the insane tyrant. When they are off hunting, Kit and Kat are captured by poachers, and their world is turned upside down. They are delivered to a sheik that collects wild animals and owns a giant zoo in the United Arab Emirates. All his life Sheik Mohammad has wanted nothing more than to please his father. When he captures Kit and Kat he gets an idea. He will train Kit and Kat to do running in the Olympics. But will Kit and Kat be able to run in the Olympics without harming the other competitors?

Kit and Kat have lived with cheetahs all their lives. They rip raw meat with their teeth, can barely speak, and can run at super-human speeds. So it is a big change when they are captured and brought to the Sheik’s zoo where they begin to assimilate into human society. They soon take a liking to Massohmeh, the chauffeur’s daughter. Massohmeh and a Ukrainian trainer soon start training the cheetah kids to run races. Prior to their departure for the Olympics, an extravagant party is held in their honor. They see a lady wearing diamonds and suddenly start licking and sniffing at the gems. As the sheik watches, he begins to wonder if diamonds have something to do with their unusual life on the African savannah. Will they discover the mystery of their lives? Will they seek revenge?

I would recommend this book to people who like cheetahs. I think this book would be most appreciated by kids nine and up. When I first read the description on the back of the book I wasn’t sure what to think. It turned out to be a fun read. There were very few brief references to what some people may consider inappropriate, but they were just in passing and not the focus of the book. “Cheetah Kids” is a quick read and I finished it soon after I started it.
